Label and barcode scanning
Reads the ingredient list straight from the pack, or looks the product up by barcode.
New in 3.0: every feature, free
Point your camera at an ingredient label or barcode. PuristIQ checks it against your health profile (allergies, intolerances, diets and conditions) and flags what may not suit you, with a short reason for each.
How it works
Turn on the profiles that fit: allergies, intolerances, diets, health conditions. Add your own if something is missing, and a separate one for your pet.
Aim at the ingredient list or the barcode. Text is read on your phone, in the label's language or yours.
Ingredients that may not suit you are flagged, each with the profile it conflicts with and a short explanation. Then check the printed label.
Features
No tiers, no locks, no credits. These are all in the free app.

Allergies, intolerances, diets and conditions, as many as you need, all active at once.
Tap a flagged ingredient to see which profile it conflicts with and why.
Pet profiles for dogs and cats, with health tags such as chicken or beef allergy.
Plan by store aisle, check items off, and share a list with family by link or QR code.
Create custom ingredients and profiles when the built-in ones don't cover your case.
Profiles and the ingredient database live on your phone, so label scans work without signal.
For crumpled or blurry labels, ask AI for help. Off until you allow it.

Privacy first
What you eat and what you're sensitive to is nobody else's business. PuristIQ is built so it never has to know.
Free for everyone
Safety information shouldn't sit behind a paywall. Since version 3.0 every feature is free for everyone: no Pro tier, no credits, no ads, and no data to sell.
PuristIQ is made by NousVigil LLC, and we don't accept money from food brands. It is kept going by people who choose to chip in. Tips are optional and unlock nothing.
A decision aid, not medical advice. PuristIQ can misread a label or miss an ingredient, and recipes change. Always check the printed label, and follow your doctor's or dietitian's advice for allergies and medical conditions.

By people who choose to support it, outside the app. You can buy us a coffee or see other ways to help. A tip unlocks nothing, and the app works exactly the same whether you tip or not.
Ingredients that may not suit the profiles you turn on: allergies (peanut, milk, gluten and more), intolerances, diets such as vegan or gluten-free, and a range of health conditions. Each flag names the profile it conflicts with and gives a short reason.
You can add your own ingredients and profiles when something you need is missing.
No. PuristIQ is a decision aid. It can misread a label or miss an ingredient, and manufacturers change recipes. Always check the printed label and follow your doctor's advice.
By default, only what a lookup you start needs, such as the barcode number to find a product. Your profiles, lists and history stay on the device.
Two things are optional and off until you turn them on: AI label reading (a single label photo, processed in memory and not stored) and anonymous contributions (custom items you create). Backup, if you enable it, goes to your own iCloud or Google Drive. Details are in the privacy policy.
Yes. Reading labels, your profiles and the ingredient database all work without a connection. Looking up a new barcode and AI label reading need internet.
